IN LOVING MEMORY
Steven Edward Vasel of Chippewa Falls passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 57 in
Eau Claire, Wisconsin, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Steve was born on April 16, 1966 in
Stanton, California. After graduating from Horizon High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served at Maxwell AFB before eventually being called back to active duty in 1991 during the Gulf War. As a civilian, he oversaw the operation of heavy machinery at Berry Plastics in Chippewa Falls. Steve was a life-long Pink Floyd fan and was always one of the first on the golf course after the snow melted. He had a deep admiration of nature and animals and was often spotted driving around the Chippewa Valley with his beloved dog, Duffy Moocow McKraken, as his passenger.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Larry Vasel; and his brother, Mike Vasel.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Vasel; his brothers, Jim and Chris Vasel (Amanda Hayworth); his sister, Deb Freund (Dan Freund); his children, Justin, Paige, and Alex Vasel, and their mother, Jennifer Olson; his grandson, Oliver Vasel; and his partner, Michelle Lane.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1–3pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at The Blue Marble Pub, 816 N High St, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
