It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Welch, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who passed away on March 11, 2025. Born on July 4, 1966, in Gastonia, NC, Steven spent many years in Lawrenceville, GA, devotedly caring for his parents.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Welch, and is survived by his son, Brandon Welch; his mother, Toni Welch; his sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte Frampton (Aaron); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Chelsea Love (Kody Love), Elaina Frampton; and Nathan Frampton. He will also be dearly missed by great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Steven was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others. He never met a stranger and always made those around him feel valued and loved. He had a big heart, a great sense of humor, and a deep love for fishing. He was always the first to lend a hand, often surprising loved ones with thoughtful gifts and never letting anyone leave without a hug, a kiss, and a reminder of how much he loved them.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dale Lawing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to honor Steven’s memory. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with a dove release.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support during this difficult time. Steven’s warmth and generosity will never be forgotten, and his love will remain in our hearts always.
