Steven Whited Obituary

Born in Parkersburg, WV, on April 15, 1949, he was the son of the late Orman and Ruby (Little) Whited. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Ruesch) Whited; sons, Joseph Fleming and William Fleming; brother, Mark Whited.
Steve was a graduate of Parkersburg High School where he was active in football and wrestling. Following high school, he served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After retirement from the military, he was employed at ABL as a supervisor for over 20 years.
Steve was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to be the Ward Bishop twice, and he served in the Stake High Council. Additionally, he was the Ward Mission Leader and the Ward Clerk.
Steve enjoyed wood working, playing dominoes, and going to his grandchildren's sporting events. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his children, Ken and Robyn Fleming, Rhonda Fleming, Michelle and Diane Whited, and Kimberlee and Bob Dettlinger; grandchildren Jennifer, Brittney, Devon, Colby and Katey, Madison, Jordan, Kaleb and Amelia, Tyler and Dakota, Derek, Logan, Alexis, Baelee, and Christian; great-grandson, Grayson; daughters-in-law, Shelia Fleming and Alison Fleming; brothers, Gary Whited and Becky, and Butch Whited and Cathy; sisters, Susie LeFebvre and Mark.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, from 4 to 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 12pm. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
The family asks that all attendees of Steve's services wear a mask.
