Steven Scott Wolfe 1966 - 2025
Steven Scott Wolfe, 59, of Largo, Florida, passed away on December 25, 2025. Born on November 2, 1966, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Steven was a man of vibrant spirit, renowned for his generosity and his unwavering dedication to supporting those around him.
A lifelong learner and educator, Steven graduated from Northern Lebanon High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Spanish Education from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. His deep love for language led him to Spain, where he earned the prestigious Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (D.E.L.E.) from the University of Salamanca.
Steven's professional life was a masterful blend of education, linguistics, and business. As a translator and localization specialist, he handled complex technical and medical projects and even translated literary works for Dr. Ivar Zapp. His career as an educator took him from the classrooms of St. Petersburg College and Harrisburg Area Community College to school districts across Pennsylvania and Florida. Steven also excelled as a Senior Healthcare and IT Recruiter for major firms like The Hershey Company and HCA Healthcare; his excellence in the field was recognized with the "Excellence in Recruiting" award for generating over $3.1 million in revenue.
His leadership was truly global, most notably during his tenure as General Manager for ARCUS in San Jose, Costa Rica, where he built and trained specialized bilingual teams. An entrepreneur at heart, he founded Spanish Translation Solutions and Vanish-In-Spanish, ventures that bridged cultural gaps through remote instruction and innovative curriculum development.
Beyond his professional success, Steven found joy in the simple pleasures of life: gardening, cooking, and the companionship of his beloved pets. A true polyglot, he was fluent in English, Spanish, Latin, and French, and remained dedicated to his linguistic projects until his final days.
Steven is survived by his husband, Jay Berwanger of Largo, FL; his brothers, Warren F. (Thelma), Brian A. (Joanne), Bruce A. (Pam), and Fred J. (Rose) Wolfe; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene V. Wolfe; his brother, Larry Wolfe; his grandmother, Margaret I. Anspach; and his great-nephew, Jacob A. Mumma.
Steven lived by a simple but profound philosophy: "Life consists of two dates and a dash. Make the most of the dash; live a lush life in some small dive." His life was a testament to that "dash"—filled with love, constant learning, and a profound commitment to enriching the lives of others. He will be deeply missed.
