Sharon, Jim, Brian & the rest of Steve's family - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It just doesn't seem fair that he was taken from you so soon. I worked with Steve at Bayard and remember his great personality well. I always considered him to be the "class clown" at the firm - always making people laugh. I've run into him a few times on the street over the years and he always remembered who I was and would stop to say hi. My thoughts and prayers go out to Heidi, his children and his family in this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Steve's family at this time. My son, Judd Hart went to school with Steve and Brian but I too lost him in 2005 due to a motorcycle accident. I know exactly what you are going through at this time. But if you keep the good memories of Steve in your heart the pain will lesses, but never leave you because of the love you had for him. The sad part is God has taken both Steve and my son much to young and I know there must be a very special reason God did this, but we will never understand why they left us so soon.

I posted some of this on Heidi’s Facebook page but wanted to share my Yoder memories here, too. Here is one of my favorites: Steve and Heidi had just started dating. It was all hush-hush in the office. Sort of. The firm threw a Hawaiian luau party in the reception area to celebrate summer. Everyone was eating pineapple and sipping mimosas when Joanne Owens announced a hula hoop contest. Mike Vild stood by the elevators and had us howling with his impressive hip wiggling maneuvers. He was about to be declared the winner, when Steve -- DETERMINED TO IMPRESS HEIDI -- gets up there and ROCKS THE JOINT. He spun that thing on his neck, on his arm, on his leg. It went on for a good ten minutes. Heidi was doubled over, laughing. That pretty much sealed the deal. Five seconds later they were married... Another time Heidi was standing at my desk, chatting, when Steve walked by. "Trying to trip me now," he said, as he side-stepped around her. Heidi said dead-pan, "You can always file a lawsuit." Steve replied, "I don't want to do that." Heidi said, "Oh, really. Why not?" Steve said, "Because I love you." Isn't that cute? My desk was in a central area, so I spent half my day laughing, overhearing his outrageous remarks. And he got as good as he gave. He would dutifully run into his office when Jeanne, his feisty secretary, would yell down the hall, "You have a conference call, you dork!" He loved everyone and everything. But most of all Heidi and all his kids. One time I overheard him complaining to Chris Ward that Heidi had tried to get him to sample Indian food, while he was a steadfast meat and potatoes man. There was a silence. Finally he said, "I am what I am and I is what I is." Long live his exuberant spirit.

Though I didn't have the chance to know Steve for very long, he made an immediate impression. He invited me to his home and to sporting events, even when I was the new guy. He made me feel comfortable and like I belonged. Just a great person that will be sorely missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

I work with Steve at Potter since 2007 and atteneded many sporting events with him after work (and sometimes during). In many ways he was "Larger than Life" and will be remembered with fondness and respect. May God bless you, your family and friends during this very difficult time.

I did not know Mr. Yoder nor his family but my sympathy goes out to all of them. I too have recently lost a loved one to a fatal auto accident in November and can imagine the pain you feel. My sister also left behind a daughter for us to remember her by. My heart goes out to you....

I, got to know Steve years ago down in Florida at the Phillies phantasy camp. He was a very nice gentleman and not a bad baseball player either. He will be miss by a lot of family and friends. My condolences to his family for their lost and may God Bless you and be with you through your lives.

I first met Steve at Phillies Phantasy camp in 2006. We were on opposite teams, but became friendly. We both went back the following year and we took Steve on to our team. We wound up winning the "world Championship" of Phantasy camp... Steve was a great guy. Always smiling , laughing with a story to tell. We met up from time to time at Phils games, the Phillies World Series parade etc..... I remember watching TV one night(Phils-Dodgers) and i see this face on TV... I said to my wife, hey there's Yoder in LA... I saw him again a few times on tv at games..... funny ..... He will be missed by all who knew him... I never got the opportunity to meet his family, but my thoughts and prayers are with you...... The last time i saw Steve, he was able to meet my son. We went to a Flyers game and had dinner prior to the game at a little corner bar in South Philly... Rest in peace my friend......... Tony

The sadness I feel in Steve’s loss is compounded by the fact that I never had the opportunity to meet him. I have just recently begun getting to know Brian and I know that Steve was a HUGE part of his life. The more stories I hear, the more I know Steve was a remarkable presence in many people’s lives. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Yoder family. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I worked with Steve at Bayard. My office was next to his office so I was privy to every tale, whether tall or short, that Steve told, especially when it came to Phillies training camp! His personality was larger than life, his humor always at the ready. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. God bless!

I remember Steve and Brian as young boys, they were the first friends my sister and I had when we moved to Pa. Steve was a fun loving kid and I always remember him laughing. I know what it is like to lose a parent so I pray for his daughter's and son and just keep those memories close to your heart! He will be cheering you on from Heaven. Peace be with each and everyone of his family members! God Bless!

I can't imagine what all of you are going through, my deepest sympathies. My fondest memories of Steve and Brian were babysitting them as children. The last time Steve and I spoke, he laughed and said could you ever imagine me with 5 kids? Aren't you glad you aren't the babysitter anymore, imagine Brian and I plus 3! Steve's sense of humor was unique. I will miss him and my heart goes out to you all.
Love, Kim
