Stewart Gladden Boaz, age 83, of Fredericksburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

He was born on November 5, 1941, in Greenville, Indiana, to Gilmer Gladden and Lois (Evans) Boaz. A graduate of New Albany High School, Stewart went on to serve his country proudly as a member of the United States Army.

Following his military service, Stewart worked for Plumbers Supply of Louisville, where he eventually retired. He later continued his dedication to service through his work in maintenance with the West Washington School Corporation. Stewart was a proud member of American Legion Post 42 and the Fredericksburg Lions Club.

On November 29, 1985, he married Sharon (Trinkle) Boaz, and together they made their home in Fredericksburg. Stewart had a deep appreciation for travel, yard work, and tending to his flowers-but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He had a generous spirit and was always eager to lend a helping hand or share stories from his military service.

Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Sharon Boaz, and his sister Donna Kreiger.

He is survived by his sons, Chad Everett Boaz and Craig Eugene (Angie) Boaz; two granddaughters, Iris Boaz and Sydney Boaz; two stepsons, Charles (Gina) Walker, Joe (Gina) Walker; six grandchildren, Logan (Olivia) Walker, Bailey (Christian) Evans, Brittney (Cade) Powers, Wesley (Rachel) Walker, Kayla (Andrew) Davisson, and Peyton (Jessica) Walker; along with six great granddaughters and two great grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 2:00pm-8:00pm and again on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana.
Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm on Friday. Burial will take place at Kays Chapel Cemetery.

Stewart will be remembered for his service, kindness, and his unwavering love for Jesus, his family, community, and country.
