As tributes and accolades are being shared, This post sums up Stewie.
The diner was not just a place to eat. It was a home to so many, filled with love and laughter. Good times had by all, if you entered a stranger, you left as a friend. It was a meeting place. If you were looking for an old friend, if you were looking for somebody to do some work for you, you checked the diner. You served generations of families, as well as, generations of families worked for you. People came from all over because they heard about the diner. Let's not forget our french fry kids and the kids that came in to get an egg sandwich and hot chocolate, before they got on their school bus. You never let anyone go hungry. You were very generous with your time and any equipment anybody needed to borrow, all they had to do is ask. You were also there for anybody who needed medical equipment from children, to the elderly, to the disabled, if they needed something they came to you. You'd make a phone call and they would have it. You would go to Boston. Needham and everywhere else in between, a lot of times from morning till night. You fed thousands! We all loved working for you, from the guys in the kitchen, to the girls on the floor. We formed a bond with each other and everyone we served. The stories you and your friends would tell were so funny. We all loved hearing them. Some of them cannot be repeated. This is just a little of who you are. I am so honored to have been part of the diner family, memories of a lifetime.
I love you and miss you, Thanks for the memories, Dawn (A Stewie's Girl)
He was a Mason, serving two years as Master at Montgomery Lodge in Milford; one year as Master in the Blackstone River Lodge; two years as District Deputy Grand Master for the Blackstone 20th District and he served as Grand Lodge representative for Matta Gratta Lodge in Brazil. As a Shriner he sponsored thirteen children to the hospitals and sat on the Board of Governor's for the Scottish Rite School for Dyslexia. He was a sharpshooter and a member of the Hopedale Rod and Gun Club.
Two of his favorite pastimes were cheering on his grandchildren in their life passions or a visit to their schools to share and teach his culinary skills. He instilled his love of reading, by sharing the Harry Potter series, with his grandchildren. Memories that will be passed down for generations.
The family would like to send a heartfelt "Thank You" for all the love & support to Dr Rippberger, VT VNA/VNH and Lake Sunapee Hospice
