Stewart Douglas Van Dyke II (Doug), age 38, of Carmel, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away Friday evening, August 8, 2025 peacefully relaxing in his bed at his residence. He was born November 9, 1986, in Dayton, Ohio, a beloved and undeniably favorite son of Stewart Douglas Van Dyke and Donna Sue Cecil Van Dyke.
Doug is survived by his biggest fan club, older sisters Monnica Masters (Brad), Cecilly Sears (Doug) and Kendall Sicnolf (Ben).
He also leaves behind countless other family members, friends, caregivers, facilitators, classmates, service staff, teammates, postal workers, librarians and feathered and furry creatures who will miss him dearly.
To know Doug was to simply love him. His many talents and prowess include:

Loyal neighborhood trick-or-treater
Overall distributor of pure joy
A remembrance and celebration of Doug’s life will be held Saturday, August 16 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church: 14598 Oak Ridge Rd, Carmel, IN 46032. There will be a viewing from 11:00-1:00, Mass at 1:00 and lunch onsite to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Doug’s beloved Outside the Box are appreciated.
