Stewart Cameron Young, Sr., 62, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Friday, September 5, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on May 25, 1963, to the late Frank Thomas Young and to V’Ann Stewart Kitchens. Stewart was a 1981 graduate of Valdosta High School and attended Valdosta State College (VSU). On December 1, 1998, Stewart started Valdosta Winsupply Company where he served as the owner and president of the company for almost 27 years. He surrounded himself with a great team of workers that he was proud to call his work family. Stewart’s special place was St. Augustine, where he loved to walk the beach and look for seashells with his wife. They both were truly looking forward to retiring to St. Augustine. But on Friday, God had another plan for Stewart and called him home. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, friend and mentor to everyone. Stewart loved his family deeply and as hard as this loss is for them, they all feel his love wrapped around them tightly now and know that he will guide them all in this new chapter of their lives.
Stewart is survived by his wife, Lori Young of Valdosta; his son and daughter-in-law, Stewart Cameron Jr., and Taylor Young of Lake Park; his daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Dan Cruz of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany; his step-daughter and her husband, Jaime and David Cunningham of Hagerstown, Maryland; his sweet granddaughter, Vivienne Young of Lake Park; his mother, V’Ann Stewart Kitchens of Valdosta, a brother, F. Thomas Young, Jr. of Atlanta and his stepmother, Debbie Young, of Baltimore, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Kitchens.
A memorial service for Stewart Cameron Young, Sr., will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at. Carson McLane.
