Stonewall Jackson "Jack" Kilby, a beloved member of the Madison, Virginia community, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 13, 1936, in Slate Mills, Virginia, Jack the son of Otis Stonewall Kilby and Anne Ellen Updike Kilby.

Jack's life was deeply rooted in his love for family, farming, and faith. He found immense joy in working the land and caring for animals, passions that defined much of his life and connected him to the rural community he held so dear. His unwavering Christian faith served as a guiding light throughout his years and was a source of strength and inspiration to those who knew him.

Jack was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Phyllis Clore Kilby. Together they built a life filled with love and strength that left an enduring legacy for their family.

He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Franklin Kilby and his wife Nancy of Richmond, Virginia; James Edward Kilby of Slate Mills; and his sister Jean Minnis of Rockingham, Virginia. Jack's daughters-Yvonne Kilby-Howard and her husband Duane of Princeton, Minnesota; Valora Kilby of Box Elder, South Dakota; Jonita Henshaw and her husband Jube of Culpeper; and Teresa Hewitt and her husband James of Spotsylvania-carry forward his memory with love and gratitude. He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Coleman Hitt of Minneapolis and his wife Lindsey, as well as Ashleigh Blasey and her husband Bobby.

Jack's legacy is one of steadfast devotion to those he loved and the values he upheld. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing. A Funeral Service will be held on April 4, 2026, at Novum Baptist Church 1629 Novum Church Rd., 11am visitation, 12 noon service with intermittent to follow in the church cemetery.
