Stuart Drucker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 22, 2020.
Stu died Wednesday morning April 22, 2020. He grew up in NYC playing stickball in the streets of Washington Heights and loving the Dodgers in Yankee territory! His love of sports especially baseball was apparent from such an early age in his life, making up games to play always involving a bat and ball. he even attempted to try out for the NY Mets! As a father he became a coach to his son Matthew and daughter Angela during their times playing baseball/softball, often pushing them to try and make it further than he was able to. Stu, despite being an only child, decided to enlist in the Air Force. He received an honorable discharge to come home and care for his mother when his father passed. he often bragged about his short time in the Air Force working on the aircraft because it was something he was so incredibly proud of. Ironically, as much as he loved working on these planes he was scared to fly! Thankfully, he was able to manage that fear and see the world as he wanted to, albeit mostly by cruise ship. Stu was a man of words, striking up conversations with total strangers in line at any store at any time. Although he loved discussing politics, he knew that discussing sports and music would yield better results. He loved music and sports and often played trivia games with his friends. He would get a great question in his head to ask and had to immediately phone a friend to see if he could stump them, sometimes being the only thing he said before getting off the phone...it was THAT important! Stu was a passionate man who loved his family and would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the last shirt he had! He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Lattanina (Nina), their 3 children, Matthew and his wife Teresa; Angela and her husband John; Michelle and her husband Antonio as well as his grandchildren for whom he loved more than anything in the whole world. Stu often exclaimed how he lived for each of them: Nicholas, Damiano, Charles and his first "baby girl" due in June whom he couldn't wait to meet and spoil! In addition to his immediate family, Stu kept very close relationships with his cousins that he loved dearly. And for many others, even if you weren't family, he treated you like you were. He will be dearly missed.
