Son of Sam & Jean Kramer

Born in Brooklyn NY, raised in the Bronx on Cruger Avenue in Pelham Parkway.

First and foremost, Stuart was the most dedicated husband to Esther Zarco Kramer for 60 years. He was the most devoted father to his three children, Carolyn and Lisa and Susan. His devotion continued with his grandchildren, Lauren, Brandi, and Lutece. And followed through with his adoration to his younger brother Michael. He was a proud friend, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin. Family was paramount.

Professionally,

Stuart attended City College for Electrical Engineering. He continued his post grad research work at Columbia University & Johns Hopkins University. He is a Bell Labs Fellow, one of the highest achievements in the world for technical achievement in science, math & physics.

At AT&T Bell Laboratories, his work focused on optical communications and fiber-optic technology. He made renown key "Contributions and Inventions" and held several patents related to advancements in optical fibers and laser systems. He frequently collaborated with other prominent Bell Labs scientists on projects that shaped modern global telecommunications infrastructure.

His notable work includes: Fiber Amplifiers, He co-invented techniques for optical fiber amplifiers/optics specifically focusing on optimizing the power and performance of signals in long-distance communication Laser Systems. His research involved the development of frequency-stabilized lasers and methods for controlling light within fiber networks.

Stuart lived with his family in Fair Lawn NJ since 1964 and was a runner for over 60 years, a nature lover, a trailblazer, a proud Jew, a Cape Codder in summers, an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan for life and a sports lover of Mets, Jets & The NY Knicks. He led a life filled with dignity & honor.
