Stuart R. "Stu" Parks, 71, of Waynesboro, PA left us peacefully on December 27, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born in 1954 in Chicago, spending his early years in Indiana. In 1964, his family moved to Thurmont, MD, and thereafter to Blue Ridge Summit, PA graduating from Waynesboro High School in 1972.
Stu is survived by his cherished wife, Michele "Shelly" (Datillio), along with two daughters and their spouses, Nicole and Mike, and René and Chris. Stu was a grandfather of four. He also leaves two brothers, Malcolm Parks of Richmond, VA and Douglas Parks of Waynesboro, PA together with a large complement of dear nieces and nephews.
Stu had a successful career in the publishing industry by starting at his father’s publishing business Tab Books. He then moved on to McGraw-Hill Publishing Inc., and finally retired from Wolters-Kluwer Publishing as Distribution Operations Manager.
He was an avid golfer, participating in weekly outings with many close friends. He also enjoyed nothing more than his annual trips to Aruba and spending weeks with his family at North Carolina's Outer Banks. He was known for his generosity in helping others, and for his huge personality that lit up any room he entered. He never finished a conversation without making people laugh with him.
Stu was genuinely a special, kind, accomplished and loyal man whose absence will be felt by all those who knew him.
