Suchinder Kaur was born on October 20, 1967, to Mohan Singh Sahota and Surjeet Kaur Sahota in the village of Jandoli, in the Hoshiarpur District of Punjab. In 1968, her family moved to Bombay, where she spent most of her childhood and adult life. As the eldest of four siblings—Sukhminder (Sukhi), Manjinder (Manju), and Rajinder (Raju)—she naturally became a pillar of strength for her family.

From a young age, she carried responsibility with grace. She was the heart of her household—managing finances, holding tuitions to support her education, and guiding her siblings with wisdom beyond her years. Intelligent, disciplined, and a natural leader, she made her parents immensely proud when she graduated from L.S. Raheja College with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

In 1993, with courage and hope, Suchinder made the difficult decision to leave her family behind and travel to Vancouver, Canada, determined to build a better future. Soon after, she married Lakhwinder Singh Cheema on April 20, 1994, in Marietta, Georgia. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication.

She was blessed with two children—Amanpreet, born in 1995, and Simranjeet, born in 1996. Being a mother was the greatest joy of her life. Everything she did was for her children—their well-being, their values, and their future. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a constant source of encouragement and sacrifice. In 2024, she was blessed to become a grandmother to Ronan Asher Singh, whom she adored deeply. From the moment he arrived, he became the light of her life.

Suchinder Kaur lived her life guided by seva, compassion, and faith. She always put Waheguru first and ensured her children understood the importance of Sikhi, humility, and gratitude. She was a long-time member of the Sikh Study Circle Gurdwara, where she served selflessly and held yearly prayers—quietly giving without ever seeking recognition.

She had a rare way of making people feel supported—always willing to help and always placing others before herself. Her kindness was steady, her faith unwavering, and her love unconditional.

On January 3, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, Suchinder Kaur peacefully returned to Waheguru, surrounded by her family. While her loss leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, we find comfort in knowing she lived a life of purpose, devotion, and love.

May Waheguru grant her eternal peace and give strength to all those she leaves behind
