Sue Auer, age 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on September 26, 2025.

Born in Lima, Ohio, on March 2, 1945, Sue was the youngest of seven children of Leonard and Margaret Eilerman. After graduating from St. Gerard High School, she joined the Sisters of Charity, serving at St. Aloysius Orphanage in Cincinnati before beginning a lifelong career at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sue dedicated more than 30 years to Good Samaritan, starting as a scheduler and retiring as an operating room data coordinator. Known for her professionalism and warm humor, she brightened the lives of colleagues and patients alike.

Sue married the love of her life, Barry Auer, in 1986. Together they shared 35 years of marriage, serving side by side as active members of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish. Sue was a devoted volunteer, serving as a greeter and on the adoration committee.

Family was central to Sue's life. She was a beloved and devoted aunt, attending countless school and sporting events for her nieces and nephews. Sue treasured time spent with family in Delphos and on travels with her sisters.

A true Cincinnati sports fan, Sue loved cheering for the Reds and Bengals. She also enjoyed playing the slots, trying her luck with the lottery, and sharing laughter with family and friends. She never met a stranger, and her kindness and joyful spirit made her unforgettable.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Barry; her parents; her brother, Joe; and her sisters, Barbara (Steve) Gamble, Mary (Gene) Mead, Joan Wright, and Janet (Jim) Schafer. She is survived by loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 7754 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45236. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 7754 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45236 or the Good Samaritan Foundation – Free Health Clinic, 375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220.
