Sue A. Binder, 88, of Hammond, IL, passed away on Monday evening, June 16, 2025 at her residence.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Hammond Cemetery with Rev. Leland Legg officiating. No visitation will be held.

Sue was born October 28, 1936 in Olney, the daughter of Roy A. and Mary Helen Iaun Gillen. She married John W. Binder on October 20, 1961 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2013.

Survivors include her children: Chris Ellis and husband: Kevin of Hammond and Johnny Binder of Decatur, Jerry Binder and Jeffrey Binder and wife; Trish of Cape Coral, FL, 11 grandchildren: Brad Ellis, Lindsey Walk, Brittany Bartley, Johnathon Binder, Tyler Binder, Jordan Muehlebach, Leslie Richardson, Mitchell Binder, Kaleigh Koetting, Alissa Koetting, and John Koetting, numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Frances Strocher.

Sue worked as a unit clerk at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Hammond United Methodist Church and the Decatur Woman's Club.

Sue was a St. Louis Cardinal's fan. She enjoyed watching western movies, sewing, playing solitaire and spending time with her family members. She always had a good sense of humor.

Memorials are suggested to the Hammond United Methodist Church.
