Sue Brown, age 83, of Glenwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
She was born on October 11, 1941, in Watson, Arkansas. She was the daughter of John Herman West, Sr. and Mabel Kilby West. She is preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Johnny West and Gale West; her sister, Annice West; and her husband, Richard Brown.
On June 26, 1959, Sue married the love of her life, Richard Brown. For many years she worked as an Insurance Agent for Glenwood Insurance Agency. She loved camping, being in nature, riding in the passenger seat for long drives, big trucks, truck drivers, country music, and most of all she loved being with her kids and grandkids. Sue was known to have her big hair and wearing high heels. She loved her dog, Bella. Sue had the kindest heart and there was not a person she met that she didn't tell that she loved them and that they were so handsome or pretty. Sue was a loving sister, wife, mother, Mamaw Sue, and friend and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Tina and Stanley Thrash of Hot Springs, David and Lisa Brown of Greenbrier, and Todd and Dominique Brown of Hot Springs; her grandchildren, Coleman Thrash of Austin, Texas, Ryan Brown of Maine, Dillan Brown of Benton, Lakin Nunez of Glenwood, Camber Brumett of Hot Springs; her great-grandchildren, Theo, Adley Sue, and Raiden; her brother, John Herman West, Jr. of Norman; her special friends Pat Owens and Tena and Randy Johnson; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sue's caregivers, Amanda Brown, Maxine Collins, Paula Lock, the staff of Brookfield Memory Care, and the staff of Hot Springs Hospice. Thank you all for loving our Mom and Mamaw Sue.
Pallbearers will be Coleman Thrash, Ryan Brown, Dillan Brown, Crews Nunez, Mike Vaughn, and Bobby Brumett.
Honorary Pallbearers will be John Herman West, Jr., Chipper Reeves, Tommy Grant, Billy Lock, Randy Jones, Randy Johnson, and Josh Moore.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to services on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery.
