Sue Mompher Obituary

Sue Carole Mompher

Sue Carole Mompher, 86, of Findlay, passed away at 3:23 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, in Findlay. She was born in Wharton, September 24, 1939, to the late Austin and Nina (Moyer) Harrington. On May 11, 1979, she married Donald R. Mompher, and he preceded her in death December 16, 2024.

Sue was known as "The Best Hugger," and those hugs will be missed daily.

She started "Purses with Purpose" from her home and distributed over 500 purses filled with necessities to women in need.

Surviving Sue is her daughter, Julie (John) Peterman; son, Jeffrey (Kelly S.) Stewart; and grandson, Zane Swackhammer; grandson, Nathan (Jessica O.) Miller and their family, Lleyton and Lilianna Miller. Sue has many nieces and nephews who will miss her. Don's children, David Mompher, Diane (Charlie) Crawford and numerous stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Sue in death were her brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Flo Brown; her sister, brother-in-law and niece, Marilyn, Eugene, and Kelly Sue Ossman;, two stepgranddaughters, Jenna and Heather Causcud; and Don's two sons, Dennis and Danny Mompher.

Sue was a former member of StoneBridge Church of God and is now a member of Lima Street Church of God.

It was Sue's wish not have any visitation or services. Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements. Inurnment will take place in Knollcrest Cemetery, west of Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made in Sue's name to Lima Street Church of God, 119 East Lima Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

So sad to hear of Sue´s passing. She was the best! Loved her hugs. Loved visiting with her. She was such a beautiful soul. She will be missed terribly.
