Susan Kay Schoessler passed away peacefully on Feb 2, 2026 at Providence Medical Center in Portland. She was surrounded by loving family and friends.

Sue Schoessler was born on February 13, 1956 in Walla Walla, Washington to Arthur and Marida Schoessler. She had 2 brothers, Van Allen and Jeffrey Jacob.

Sue grew up in Walla Walla, Washington and attended school at Edison Elementary, Pioneer Jr High and Walla Walla High School. After high school, she worked in the banking business in Walla Walla before moving to the Portland area. In 1983, she married Wayne Jorgenson and they had 2 sons – Kurtis and Kipp. The family lived in the Newberg area where Sue worked for Bergen Brunswig in the accounting department. Sue and Wayne separated in 2014.

Sue loved her family and poured out her love for her grandkids. She couldn't stop talking about how proud she was of her family. Also, she loved her animals. She always had her cats as companions, but her true love was her horses. Sue had Appaloosas from an early age and showed them at horse shows around the Northwest winning many ribbons. The Schoessler family had acreage in Walla Walla and kept a pasture and barn for the horses. Sue rode her beloved animals every day. Family was a big part of growing up and the Schoessler's took summer vacations to Cannon Beach, Williams Lake, Rockaway Beach where they would meet extended family - uncles, aunts and cousins. During the summer in Walla Walla, the family would have huge picnics at Pioneer Park and Sue would play with all of her cousins especially Anna Marie Edwards and Debbie Freeman. The family was heavily involved in the Christ Lutheran Church and Sue was baptized there and attended Sunday School and Bible classes. Sue had many friends from growing up in Walla Walla and tried to stay in touch with them over the years.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Kurtis Jorgenson of Carlton, Oregon and Kipp Jorgenson, in Eugene, Oregon. She also is survived by her partner Robert Butch Hamel. In addition, her brother Van lives in Bend, Oregon. Also, she leaves 3 grandchildren with Kurtis and Bryanna: Grace Mae, Kaden and Charlie. In addition, she has a step daughter Melanie Crabtree. Sue has several cousins based in the Northwest. She is pre-deceased by her father Arthur, mother Marida, brother Jeffrey and ex-husband Wayne Jorgenson.

A Celebration of Life for Sue is being planned for later this year.
