Sue Simpson was born on December 12, 1943 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Raymond Newton and Lena Caperton Blount.

On August 19, 1995, she was united in marriage to Deward Russell Simpson, who preceded his wife in death on April 14, 2020.

In her teenage years, Sue worked at Wolfe's Dairy Bar. She later worked for Savannah Manufacturing for many years before retiring from Super Drugs. Sue was a loving wife to Russell and cared for him at home for as long as she was able to. She and Russell loved Alabama football and Cardinals baseball and Sue enjoyed square dancing when she was younger. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and would do anything for them. She would attend her grandsons sports activities and support them until her health started to decline. Sue would also speak her mind no matter what, but she loved with her whole heart. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Sue Simpson departed this life on October 28, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 16 days.
