Sue Thomas White, age 85, of Baxley passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Memorial Health in Savannah surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. White was born September 23, 1939 in Jeff Davis County to the late Ira Estell Thomas and the late Edith Lee Nelson Thomas. She was a member of First Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. White was the owner & operator of Sue’s Beauty Salon and thoroughly enjoyed playing Canasta. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Andrew White.
Survivors include her sons, Mitch (Michelle) White of Hazlehurst; Kevin (Kim) White of Baxley; sister, Joyce (Rob) White of Wadsworth, Ohio; and brother, J. R. (Libby) Thomas of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 3:00 pm at First Assembly of God with Rev. Ronnie Rentz and Rev. Fred Anderson officiating. Interment will follow Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jared White, David Beckworth, Luke White, Grant Drew, Lance White, and Rex Cox.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of First Assembly of God and all friends in attendance.
The visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
