Dr. Suresh Mehta, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, in Erie, Colorado, on June 11, 2025.
Born and educated in India, Dr. Mehta pursued a career in medicine, which he practiced with dedication and compassion for over 35 years. He was known for his selflessness and found deep fulfillment in helping those in need. After retiring at the age of 64, he moved to Colorado to live with his daughter, Puja Amin.
Dr. Mehta cherished time with his family and was especially fond of engaging his grandchildren—Dhruv, Nandini, Reva, Misha, and Kaysha—with clever math riddles. He had a playful spirit and enjoyed games of strategy and chance—particularly playing rummy with friends and family, as well as the occasional visit to the casino. A lifelong cricket enthusiast, he proudly supported the Indian National Team and loved discussing both Indian and American politics. His opinions often sparked lively conversations, especially his enthusiastic support for President Donald Trump.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Usha Mehta; his three daughters—Ila, Neha, and Puja; his sons-in-law—Nikhil, Chirantan, and Keyur; several siblings and grandchildren; and many dear friends of several decades, especially Pravin Patel. He will be remembered for his intellect, generous heart, love for his family, and spirited conversations.
