Sue was more than just a mentor to me, she was my "big sister " and lovingly referred to me as her "little brother." She opened doors and gave me incredible opportunities to serve others in both the Pennsylvania chapter and the national AAP. She provided the spark of the idea and the organization to make her programs a reality. She did so for the Pennsylvania chapter of the AAP as well as the national AAP and did so until just a few years ago.
Sue was of that generation of women who forged the path in pediatrics when medical school and pediatrics was a significant challenge for those women who wanted to care for and advocate for the children in the US and internationally.
Sue helped to shape not just the careers but also their lives of those she touched both personally and professionally. She never shied away from giving you her true thoughts, but always respected your opinion.
She was truly a gifted and unique human being and has given so much to so many people--her family, her patients, and pediatricians nationally and internationally. She was truly one of a kind.
We have lost another giant in pediatrics.

My condolescenes to her family.
Dr Sue Aronson had a profound impact on me personally and my career. She never waivered on her values and her expectations of others. I learned so much from her at the helm of the Early Childhood Education Linkage System, the PA Academy of Pediatrics. I am forever grateful to her for my skills in writing, public speaking and team work.
Thank you Dr Sue,
Laurie Grant
