Susan Beaudin Obituary

Susan Darlene "Susie" Racine-Beaudin, 80, of Harvey, entered into eternal life on Friday evening, September 26, 2025.

Susie was born on March 5, 1945, to Clarence Lowell and Mary Clara Agnes (Kind) Racine and was raised in Harvey along with her eight brothers and sisters. Susie followed her calling into health care, working compassionately for UPHP and Hospice. She was a gifted caregiver, extending her love and devotion not only to her clients, but also to her own parents, whom she faithfully cared for at home until their passing.

First and foremost, Susie was a child of Christ. Her faith guided her life, and she was deeply involved in St. Louis the King, attending daily Mass, assisting as an altar server, and serving as sacristan until her health prevented her. Known affectionately as "Grandma" to many and "The Hugger," to all. Susie welcomed everyone with kindness, warmth, a cup of coffee, a piece of candy (Werther's), and a listening ear. Remembered for her sharp wit and great sense of humor, she was a friend to many and a blessing to all who knew her.

Family was at the center of her world. She was a caring and loving mother, and her bond with her daughter, MaryAnn, was especially strong and deeply cherished. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she was always only a phone call away whenever they needed her. Along with so many others who remained by her side through every stage of life, especially in her final days. Their love, support, and companionship brought her great comfort and peace.

Susie was blessed with the very best of friends who supported and loved her in countless ways, your kindness, presence, generosity and love have meant more than words could ever express.

While it would be impossible to list each name, please know that each of you left an imprint on her and our family's hearts. Your love and care will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter, MaryAnn Racine-Jeeves; her grandchildren, Krystal Gauthier, Jacob, and Joseph Bray; and her great-grandchildren, Naomi and Zayden Bray. She also leaves behind her siblings, Ronald (the late Mary) Racine, Marietta (the late Louis) Wheeler, Betty (Chuck) Vollrath, Robert (Kathy) Racine, and James "Jimmer" Racine; her beloved cat, Luna; numerous nieces and nephews; honorary sisters and brothers, Jenelle, Judith, John, Jim, Joy, Mary, Carol and Bill; and honorary family, Anna and Scott, Lisa, Josie, Killian, Cullen and Devin.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; brothers, John (Nancy) Racine and Walter (Susie) Racine; sister, Julie Racine-Barrett; and her dearly loved cat, Sir George.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Louis the King Catholic Church beginning at 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12pm in the church, with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. A luncheon will follow the mass in the church hall. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, where Susie will be laid to rest beside her parents.
