Susan's death reminds us to live each day to it's fullest ~ there is no promise of tomorrow. What a wonderful woman who touched so many lives. My son Nicolas was blessed to have Susan as his speech therapist at FBE for 4 years. I still have her "thank you" notes she sent home when he would give her gifts...and he is in college now. There is a hole in our lives where Susan used to be...but the space she occupies in our hearts will always stay. My prayers to her family for your loss...thank you for sharing her with us. She is loved.

I taught across the hall from Susan for two years at Fern Bluff. She was always available for guidance, ideas, or just a laugh. Susan is my aunt and I'm in disbelief she's gone. Aunt Susan was an angel on this earth and now she's an angel in Heaven. She always smiled and was always there when I needed her. I can still hear her laughing at all of us cousins saying "aww how cute are they?!?" I was also a high school friend of Susan. She was so funny. Also knew her thru the "Lathan's" in Taylor. She and her family would be visiting, while I was visiting my friend Nedra Lathan. To work with Susan the past four years has been a blessing beyond my imagination. Susan enriched the lives her colleagues, her students as well as children who passed her in the halls. We shared several children over the past years, and everyone of the children cherished the time they spent with her. It is still so hard to accept the reality of this tragic accident. I have been thinking about all of you non-stop and pray for healing and comfort to each of you. I must share that Susan was so good to Chad at Fern Bluff...always bragged about Chad's smile and still loved to talk about the picture of Garrett and Chad when they were in little league. Susan was also the person who always took the time to make me feel comfortable at Round Rock baseball games when I was alone. I will truly miss her. If there is ever anything Chad or I can do, please let us know.

We are devastated by the loss of such a great person. Susan was such a caring person, who put everyone before herself. Especially our son, Brandon Pello. Losing someone you love can be the saddest part of life, and sometimes, nothing anyone says or does can make it any better. But if being there for you and your family can help you through these difficult days, I will be. My heart goes out to all of you and I truly wish I could lessen your pain. You probably don't remember me but I was the counselor at Fern Bluff when it first opened. I cannot tell you how sad and shocked I was to hear about Susan. I have such wonderful memories of her. She was a friend, was so dedicated to her school kids and to her own!! While I had lost touch (I left FBE after 3 years), I never forgot her smile and her friendship.
