Susan's death reminds us to live each day to it's fullest ~ there is no promise of tomorrow. What a wonderful woman who touched so many lives. My son Nicolas was blessed to have Susan as his speech therapist at FBE for 4 years. I still have her "thank you" notes she sent home when he would give her gifts...and he is in college now. There is a hole in our lives where Susan used to be...but the space she occupies in our hearts will always stay. My prayers to her family for your loss...thank you for sharing her with us. She is loved.

I taught across the hall from Susan for two years at Fern Bluff. She was always available for guidance, ideas, or just a laugh. She was part of the foundation of that school and has touched many lives throughout the years she's taught there. My prayers are with her family, colleagues, and students during this difficult time.

Susan is my aunt and I'm in disbelief she's gone. Aunt Susan was an angel on this earth and now she's an angel in Heaven. She always smiled and was always there when I needed her. I can still hear her laughing at all of us cousins saying "aww how cute are they?!?" On behalf of the family, we greatly appreciate all those who keep us in your prayers and all those who came to the visitation and funeral along with all those who sent the beautiful flowers.

I was also a high school friend of Susan's, thru school and also thru the Lathans. Haven't seen her since graduation (many years ago). She has a heart of gold. And she was so funny! May God be with you and your family (the Blounts and the Streits) in this time of need.

I was also a high school friend of Susan. She was so funny. Also knew her thru the "Lathan's" in Taylor. She and her family would be visiting, while I was visiting my friend Nedra Lathan. Susan was such a sweet and kind person, and always had a smile. My prayers are with the Blounts and the Streits.

Dear Lord,
Please help all in this time of loss and overwhelming grief. We don't understand why life is filled with this pain and heartache. But we turn our eyes to you as we seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. We will wait on you and not despair; we will quietly wait for your salvation. Our hearts are crushed, but we know that you have not abandoned us. Please show your compassion, Lord. Help us all through the pain so that we will hope in you again. Though it may be hard to see past today, I trust your great love will never fail. I believe the promises in your Word to send fresh mercy each day.
Amen

To work with Susan the past four years has been a blessing beyond my imagination. Susan enriched the lives her colleagues, her students as well as children who passed her in the halls. We shared several children over the past years, and everyone of the children cherished the time they spent with her. For me, I shall celebrate her life and the treasures she shared as a teacher, a woman, and a friend. Without a doubt, we will see Susan again.

Larry, Rachel & Garrett,
It is still so hard to accept the reality of this tragic accident. I have been thinking about all of you non-stop and pray for healing and comfort to each of you. I must share that Susan was so good to Chad at Fern Bluff...always bragged about Chad's smile and still loved to talk about the picture of Garrett and Chad when they were in little league. Susan was also the person who always took the time to make me feel comfortable at Round Rock baseball games when I was alone. I will truly miss her. If there is ever anything Chad or I can do, please let us know.

We are devastated by the loss of such a great person. Susan was such a caring person, who put everyone before herself. Especially our son, Brandon Pello. To Susan's family,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Susan's death. I read about it in the Dallas paper, not knowing it was the Susan I knew growing up in Taylor. My mom called to let me know.....Susan and I knew each other from elementary school through high school and attended the same church. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and the students at Fern Bluff.

In this time of sorrow, I would like to share with you a poem I once read: Sometimes when heartache and sorrows come my way, and I feel like I have no strength to live another day...I look to God for guidance to help me through it all; to pick me up off the ground and stand me straight and tall. I look to God for patience to help me give things time; to somehow show me the answers that alone I could not find. I look to God for reassurance to let me know it's okay; and to give me the strength I need to live another day.
I hope you find peace in knowing that the Lord is always with you. Susan was a true blessing in the lives of many, especially ours. She will undoubtedly be missed. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers throughout the days to come.

Losing someone you love can be the saddest part of life, and sometimes, nothing anyone says or does can make it any better. But if being there for you and your family can help you through these difficult days, I will be. My heart goes out to all of you and I truly wish I could lessen your pain. Susan was always a great friend to me. We grew even closer over the past several years as she continued to helped me through the most difficult time of my life. Her faith and love for our Lord was exemplary. I will truly miss her comforting words and especially her prayers. As I pass through this life the love from friendships, like Susan's, will be with me through eternity.

Dear Larry, Rachel & Garrett,

I will never be able to convey with words how my heart truly aches for all of you and your loss. Our families share so many cherished memories. Susan had such a sweet, loving heart and was the kind of friend that you couldn't help but be happy when you were around her. She was always wearing her big, beautiful smile! We never ran out of things to laugh about. She was the first one there if you were ever sick and a friend that you knew you could call if you ever needed anything. I will so miss my dear friend and our talks about our kids and what was going on in our lives. I will miss the hugs at church on Sunday mornings and the way she laughed so hard her shoulders shook.
