Susan A. Boroskas, 70, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Providence, RI, on October 21, 1955 to the late John McLacken and Josephine (Starsiak). Susan graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Johnson and Wales, and the SNHU Masters program. Susan worked in restaurants in Rhode Island, New York and Nantucket. She taught both baking and culinary arts at Johnson and Wales and also at Manchester Skill Center and SNHU. In her last 30+ years of work she was the Child Nutrition Director for the Raymond School District and the Derry Cooperative School District.
Susan was an avid reader and loved to do jigsaw puzzles with her friend, Dave Wishinski, whom she thought of as a second son. She also enjoyed spending time shopping at her favorite Hallmark store, purchasing Yankee Candles, and browsing at Simon Pearce. One of her favorite things to do was spending time in her beautiful yard with Michael and her French bulldog, Julia. She loved to look at the flowers that she and Dave would plant together each spring.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael, of 40 years, son Adam, brother John McLacken and sister-in-law Christine of East Providence Rhode Island, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4pm – 7pm at Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester, NH. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 11am at Congregational Church of Hooksett, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan’s name to Little Sisters of the Poor -Jeanne Jugan Residence 964 Main Street, Pawtucket Rhode Island 02860-4842.
