Susan Kay Chain, 80, of Liberal, passed away on Saturday December 27, 2025 at Wheatridge Care Park in Liberal, KS.

She was born on November 20, 1945 to Frederick and Anne (Radich) Kulisek at Seattle, WA.

On August 30, 1969 she married Charles "Charlie" Chain at Rialto, CA. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2025.

Growing up, Susan's family lived in many places due to her father's job with the Army Corp. of Engineers. After marrying Charlie, she moved to Liberal, KS in 1971 where he began teaching. Susan ran a daycare out of home for several years while her children were young. She later became the Church Secretary at Central Christian Church in Liberal where she was also a long time member. Susan enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, quilting, sewing, beading jewelry, painting, and collecting. She was also a member of the Needles & Friends Quilt Guild, a volunteer with SWMC Auxiliary and Birthline Pregnancy Center.

Susan is survived by her Two Daughters, Alice Isaacs (Russell) of Turpin, OK, Paula Jackle (Dillen) of Olathe, KS, Grandson, Jase Paul Jackle, Sister, Karen (Doug) Coleman of Lynden, WA.

She was also preceded in death by her Parents.

There will be no viewing.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 3, 2026, 1:00 pm at the Miller Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Chuck Scroggs, officiating.

Burial will be 11:00 am Monday January 5, 2026 in the Evergreen Cemetery near Oakwood, OK.

Memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church or Birthline in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826
