Susan Lynne Davis, age 72, of Mahtowa, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Susan was born to Betty and Harry Sloan and grew up on the North Shore, graduating from Cook County High School. She later graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and built a career centered around her strong talent for numbers and accounting.

In 1968, Susan met Robert Davis while working at Lutsen Resort. They married in 1971 and later had three children. Together, they raised their family and for a short time operated The Cook Shack, a small restaurant. Susan also worked at Pamida, Lake Superior College, and the City of Scanlon, and later ran her own accounting business.

Susan enjoyed going to the casino, bowling, horseback riding, and gardening. She loved reading, putting together puzzles, playing cards, agate picking, watching true crime shows, and really enjoyed her reality TV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Harry Sloan; her brother Michael Sloan and his wife, Linda; her sister-in-law Debbie Sloan (Harry Sloan); and her nephew, Mikey Sloan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Davis; her children Jody Mattinen (Joe), Jamie Davis (Dianna), and Miranda McNamara; her sister Maribeth (John) Engen; her brothers William Sloan, McGannon (Bretta) Sloan, and Harry Sloan; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Nelson's Funeral Care in Cloquet, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon with refreshments provided.
