Susan Davis Obituary

Susan Yvonne Davis, 74, of Crosby, Texas, passed peacefully from this earth on Monday morning, March 9, 2026, held in the arms of her Heavenly Father. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan carried warmth and love wherever she went, and her memory will be cherished deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on January 11, 1952, in Alabama, Susan was the daughter of Hoover and Exie Blair. She was raised with a spirit of curiosity and a love of life that would define her in every season that followed.

Susan was a woman of many passions. She was a devoted collector who treasured her trinkets, each one carrying a story of its own. Music filled her heart - the oldies especially - and flowers brought her a quiet joy. She was a dedicated family historian, pouring herself into researching her family's genealogy with the same enthusiasm she brought to a day of fishing or a lucky hand at the casino. She had a lifelong love of learning and a natural gift for making people feel at home.

Susan's kitchen was a place of love and legend. Her fried chicken was the kind that drew people to the table without being called twice, and her fudge and strawberry divinity became cherished Christmas traditions - so beloved that the family made sure to request them every year without fail. To sit at Susan's table was to know you were cared for.

Above all, Susan's greatest joy was her family. Her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "MawMaw," held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs. Her devotion to those she loved was unwavering and unconditional, and the mark she leaves upon her family is immeasurable.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Douglas Davis; her parents, Hoover and Exie Blair; her sister, Caroline Street; her brother, Don Blair; her stepsons, Darren and Ray Davis; and her grandchild, Travis McCleney.

She is survived by her son, Shawn McCleney; her sisters, Janice Russell, Elaine Rogers (husband Lou), and Donna Sillars (husband Cameron); her grandchildren, Jillian and Casten McCleney; and a loving extended family of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched in countless ways.

The family extends their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered kindness, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. Your love and support have been a comfort beyond words.
