You may have left us too soon but you are not forgotten!

I met Sue while playing a band gig at Concordia High School in Oakland. She was a junior. I was a senior, and now a senior once again I wasn't aware of her passing until now. It's been fifty years since my last contact with Sue, except a brief encounter on a college campus four years later where once again she was a junior and I a senior. Learning of her passing threw me into a memory time warp recalling details five decades past. She had a way about her making Susan Deckard encounters hard to forget. I appreciate those herein who shared their memories of Susan over the years. It gave me a limited opportunity to catch up on the rest of her life. It appears she lived the life she loved, selecting each slice accordingly.
I remember taking Sue to a view spot atop Oakland's Mountain View cemetery. A cemetery security guard kicked us out. At sixteen and seventeen gravestones are just ornaments along the side of the road until one day, sooner or later, one of them marks the end of our road.
Susan was a Lutheran, I converted to Mormon. I now know there's nothing sure about what comes next. Is our little life but a dream rounded with a sleep?" Or maybe something else? But incase there's no there there I think I'll ask that cemetery cop to PLEASE kick Susan out one more time!
