Susan Elaine Gardner, 79, of Del City, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on October 19, 2025, at the Integris Hospice House. Susan was born on September 11, 1946, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, as the first of six daughters to James Henry and Hazel Marie (Barnett) Leatherman. She graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1964.
Susan dedicated thirty-seven years of her life to her work at Tinker Air Force Base. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She treasured every opportunity to travel and often enjoyed exploring thrift stores, where she would seek out special treasures for her loved ones. Above all, she cherished her time with her granddaughter, Halston Elaine, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandi Gardner; son Chad Gardner; her beloved granddaughter, Halston Elaine; and her sisters, Gaynelle Anderson, Sheila Brackett, both of Eufaula, and Margaret Smith of Yukon. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Hazel Marie Leatherman, as well as two of her sisters, Linda Anderson and Shryl Leatherman.
Susan will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
