Susan Greaver Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 31, 2025.
Susan Greaver, a beloved resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on Thursday, March 19, 1942, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Susan was a beacon of love, kindness, and unwavering support to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A devoted homemaker, Susan dedicated her life to nurturing her family and enriching the lives of those around her. Her husband, Kirk Greaver, of Pasadena, Maryland, was her steadfast partner and cherished companion throughout their life together. Together, they built a family full of love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Susan is survived by her children, William James Guizzardi and his wife Beth, Kimberly Ann Kotch, and Amy Beth Anderson along with her husband, Keith. Her presence will also be dearly missed by her brother, James Reeder Barr, Jr.; her grandchildren, Claudia Farrow, Alissandra Lechuk, Gabriella Smith, Chase Kotch, Chloe Kotch, and Emma Anderson; and her many great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her days.

Preceded in death by her parents, James and Flora Barr, and her sister, Sondra Mae Rider, Susan's legacy continues through the many lives she touched with her generosity and kindness.

Susan had a passion for family gatherings, often making even the simplest occasions memorable, from Sunday roast dinners to holiday celebrations. Her love for sending heartfelt cards, enjoying meals at Johnny's with friends, and embarking on family beach vacations highlighted her commitment to cherishing life's small, yet meaningful, moments.

In her quiet time, Susan could be found sitting on her porch, delighting in the sights and sounds of the birds, or indulging in her favorite old shows like "Murder, She Wrote" and "Perry Mason." Her joy for life was matched only by her sharp wit; her spicy and sarcastic nature was a testament to her honesty and genuine character.

As a friend, Susan was a pillar of strength and support, always ready to listen, offer advice, or lend a helping hand. Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she strived to ensure those around her felt loved and happy.

Susan's family and friends will hold a private service in her honor, reflecting the personal and cherished connections she fostered throughout her lifetime. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, a testament to a life well-lived and a love well-shared.
