 Susan Lenora Bush Grimsley Taylor, 82 of Colquitt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1943 to George Edward Bush and Clara Sue Lane Bush. She was loved, adored, and affectionately known as “SuSu” to her family and special friends.                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Susan attended Miller County High School, where she was a member of the Pirate Marching Band as majorette and feature twirler. She graduated with the Class of 1961 and loved attending the class reunions over the years.                                                                             

 She married Larry Eric Grimsley on August 2, 1961 and they were blessed with two daughters. Larry and Susan were married for 44 years, until his death in 2005. She later married Terry Taylor and they were married for 15 years until his passing on January 11, 2026.                                       

Susan was a homemaker and later served as the local librarian for many years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed participating in Book Club and was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Susan found great enjoyment being on the lake with a Bream Buster in hand or walking on the Gulf Coast Beaches. An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, she attended countless games in Athens and many other SEC stadiums cheering on her Dawgs! Susan cherished her church, Colquitt Methodist, where she served and attended her entire life.                                                                     

 She is survived by her children: Kim (Oliver) Widner of Colquitt; Lari (Johnny) Hagan of Dixie; loving grandchildren: Colby Widner of Fresno, CA.; Zach (Keri) Hagan of Savannah; Hunter (Elizabeth) Hagan of Dixie; and one great-grandson, Carter Hagan of Dixie; sisters-in-law Pat Bush, Georgia Grimsley and Jan Grimsley; brother-in-law Ray Grimsley; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.                                               . 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husbands Larry and Terry, brother J.O.(Spud) Bush, and sister Edwina Davis Thomley, as well as several other loved family members.Please join us as we celebrate Susan’s life on Saturday, February 28at Colquitt Methodist Church in Colquitt, Georgia at 2:00 in the afternoon with Reverend Carrie Myers officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.                         

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Colquitt Methodist Church or the James W. Merritt Memorial Library.
