Susan Yvonne "Suzi" Hort, age 69
Susan Yvonne "Suzi" Hort was granted her angel wings on Sunday evening, July 17, 2022. She passed away at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana with her husband and daughter by her side.
Suzi was born in Escondido, California in 1952 to Marty and Lucille Baker. She was the youngest of three girls and loved tagging along with her older sisters. Suzi graduated from Escondido High School in 1970 after making a lasting impression on numerous friends, many of whom she was still in contact with and are now saddened by the loss of this beautiful soul.
Suzi met her future husband, Ted Hort, when she was just 14 years old. They dated and fell madly in love but were separated by life for a time. They were reunited years later and married in 1976. Suzi and Ted had a daughter in 1979 and a son in 1981. Suzi became a step-mother to Ted's older daughter and a surrogate mother to her nephew a few years later.
That's the type of person Suzi was. She loved with her whole heart and always wanted to help anyone in need. Her light-hearted humor and laughter brought smiles and dried tears. She was a mother to her childrens' friends and even took in a few with rough home-lives. Suzi was a caregiver by nature. She worked in healthcare, ran a daycare, taught preschool, took in stray pets, stray teenagers, and cared for her parents in their final days. Suzi was always looking out for others; friends, family, and strangers. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.
Suzi has joined her father, Martin Baker, her mother, Lucille Baker, and numerous preceding family members in Heaven along with her beloved chihuahua, Piper and some dear friends who are no longer with us. She is survived by her husband, Ted Hort, two chihuahuas, Onyx and Ellie Mae, her children: Amanda Hort (Bill Miller), Michael Hort (Christina Hort), Shylo Hort, and Billy Block along with her grandchildren: Enrique, Brittney, Kylee, Collin, Ian, Amber, Jacob, Caitlyn, Zander, Jace, Alexis, and Thorin.
No longer by our sides but forever in our hearts!
