Obituary for Susan Bowers Howard
Susan Bowers Howard, born January 26, 1961, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on November 18, 2025. She lived a life full of dedication, pride, and love for her family and community.
Susan spent many years as a Metro school bus driver, a role she held with great pride. She was also deeply connected to CSC Corp., as well as her family's firework business, where she loved helping and cooking for everyone. Her strong work ethic and warm spirit made her joy to be around.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Bowers; her father, Billy Bowers; and her mother, Emogene "Jean" Bowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Lawhorn, and son-in-law, Jake Lawhorn; four beloved grandchildren; and a granddaughter on the way.
She also leaves behind her sisters - Pam Beard (and Tony Beard), Shirley Johnson, and Brenda (Tammy) Walsh - along with nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Susan adored her dog, Phoebe, and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan,and she loved the Nashville Preds!. She loved softball, and when she was in good health, she enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her yard, and driving. Her kindness, humor, and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Susan you were always a dear friend we thought of you as our sister. You were on ever lake trip and camping trips you were with us every holiday our mother loved you dearly too? I love you and i now know you are safe with no pain in our lord's hands , I have so many fun memories of you i can't even list them . And your daddy (papa) as I called him he was good to us all too , so rest in peace with your mom and dad and my moma and little sister ( melanie).
YOU WILL BE MISSED! AND ANNA E MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
