Susan Kay Kanitz, age 84, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on April 20, 1941 to the late Gertrude and Elmer Hoppe.

Susan was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence R. Kanitz who preceded her in eternal life on June 11, 2006. Together they built a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to family.

She was the dear mother of Becky (Bryan) Madden, Kristine Kanitz, Mark Kanitz, and Leigh Ann (Jeremy) Gruel. Susan took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and cherished every moment with her grandchildren: Darien, Haley, Jack, Dillon, Tyler, Alex, Kayla, and Lauren.

A 1960 graduate of Wausau High School, Susan went on to dedicate 30 years of service to Medical Associates in Menomonee Falls where she worked in medical records. Her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.

Susan is preceded in death by her siblings, Tom Hoppe and Sharon Swanson. She will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle strength, and the unwavering love she had for her family.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 6th from 11AM- 12PM with a service to follow at 12 PM at Schramka Funeral Home, W164N9034 Water St, Menomonee Falls. Interment Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.
