Susan “Susie” Faye Portier Lauret, 63, of Lake Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on December 2, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Susan is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Stella Portier Sr., a brother; Sidney Portier Sr., a sister, Sandy Kaye Portier Nugent, and her mother-in-law Ora Belle Lauret. She is survived by her husband Michael K. Lauret, her two daughters and one bonus son, Candice Hession, Emily Harrell, and Duston Lauret, her four granddaughters Sydney Harrell, Madison Hession, Amaya Lacy, and Ta’Niya Lacy, five sisters and three brothers in law, Betty and Ken Stafford, Debbie and Huey White Jr., Brenda and Mike Alexander, Linda Portier and Vicki Portier. Also, three brothers and three sisters in law, Thomas (Tom) and Debbie Portier Jr, Robert and Judy Portier, and Clay and Melissa Portier, numerous nieces, and nephews along with numerous great nieces and nephews. Susan was a proud wife and Mimi. She was an administrative assistant at State Farm from 1998 to 2016. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2023, at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs at 9 am, services start at 11 am, followed by the burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs. Pallbearers are her nephews: Sidney Portier Jr., Shane Portier, Nathan Graves, Devin Rachal, Shawn Portier, and great nephew Liam Adamson. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts will be used by the family to honor her life and memory through The American Cancer Society.
