Susan Mannion Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, LLC - Barnegat on Jan. 6, 2026.
The family of Susan Ann Mannion regretfully announces the passing of their beloved sister on December 26, 2025, at a family residence in Barnegat N.J. of an untimely death.
Born April 13, 1955, in Manhattan, to parents John and Nora (nee Scanlon) Mannion, Susan lived as a child in The Bronx N.Y., Passaic, Fairlawn, The Landing section of Lake Hopatcong N.J., before settling down in Jersey City, N.J.
She was a 1973 graduate of Roxbury High School, continuing with an education from County College of Morris, earning her Associates in Arts Degree leading to a career as a legal Secretary, and as an Administrative Assistant in Asset Management.
While putting herself through School at The County College of Morris, she also worked weekends waitressing and volunteering for any nights she could get.
Susan worked at AT&T, Beneficial Management Corporation and worked for the better part of the last two decades at Kamber Management in the capacity as Administrative Assistant in Asset Management. Management there remembers her fondly as the 'Light of the' office and for her strong work ethic.
Susan will be remembered to have been witty, personable, and always one to care.
Her love of the NY Theatre, street fairs, open markets and traveling abroad. Upon completion of a bucket list item to see Paris and London, she had already begun plans for her and brothers to go back to Ireland in 2026.She treated all she met as family and would defend them if she thought anyone's rights or feelings were violated.
Preceded in death by her parents John (1931-2015), Nora (1932-2016), newborn brother Edward Michael (1964), Susan is survived by her brother John Mannion (Doris) of West Virginia, and brothers Eugene (Sharon) O'Grady, Kevin O'Grady, and Ronald O'Grady, all in the Barnegat, N.J. area. Also surviving are numerous Nieces, Nephews, Grandnieces, Grandnephews, with first cousins spread throughout the U.S., Ireland, and the U.K., beloved friends Jill, Torey, Theresa, Sandy and Carlton.
Our family is grateful to have enjoyed her wonderful life and those that had the opportunity to engage in it with her. We are confident that crossing paths with our beloved sister, made a difference and brought a spark that will live in eternity, always to be in our hearts!
Funeral services will be private, and a future Celebration of Life has yet to be determined.
