Susan Moffatt Obituary

Susan Angela Moffatt died unexpectedly on December 19, 2022, in Lexington, SC.

Susan was born on February 12, 1975, in Seoul, South Korea. She was adopted in 1976 by James and Barbra Moffatt, formerly of Frederick. Susan graduated from Linganore High School in 1993 and then earned an Associate's Degree from Frederick Community College. Susan was a gifted artist and skilled chef. She worked in event planning, bakeries and restaurants where her creativity and culinary skills excelled. Most recently she was employed as a cook at the Swig and Swine restaurant in Charleston, SC.

Susan was devoted to her daughter, Ava Johnson, and step-children, Zachary and Kylie Johnson. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her bubbly personality brought joy to any occasion.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Ava Johnson, and Ava's father, Aaron Johnson, both of Charleston, SC; her parents, James and Barbra (Nicodemus) Moffatt, of Westminster, MD; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Barbetta Moffatt, of Hanover, PA; a niece, Jessica Staub, and nephews, Jesse Moffatt, Peter Moffatt and David Moffatt, all of Hanover, PA; and a great-niece, Brooklyn Starner, and great-nephew, Landyn Staub, of Hanover, PA.

A funeral service and burial will be held on December 29, 2022, at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Korean Adoptee Family Foundation (KORAFF) or The Delaplaine Arts Center for youth arts programs. Susan Moffatt
