Susan Grace Nocella, 57 years of Lynn, passed away peacefully at the Abbott House Nursing Facility in Lynn, on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, after a nine year battle with Dementia. Susan was surrounded by her family when she entered into eternal rest. Susan was born in Lynn, the daughter of Albert and Grace (Collins)Nocella of Lynn. Susan graduated second in her class from Lynn Classical High School , class of 1971. She went on to Chandler Business School in Boston. She was awarded the John Hancock Award and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Susan's first job after college was as an Office Manager for the late Dr. Daniel Killoran, then worked for Dr. Robert Pennell, She ended her working career in 2002 as Office Manager for North Shore Ear , Nose and Throat with Doctors Leidner and Garfinkle Susan loved music and loved to dance; she was a fabulous cook and loved to bake. Sue was famous for the hundreds of Christmas cookies, she baked every year. Susan loved to put on her headphones and walk the beach. Susan loved to travel; she took cruises and was especially in love with the Island of St. John. Susan's first love was her family; she was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Her second love was her job, she was a dedicated employee all of her life. Susan had beautiful blue eyes and a smile that would light up a room. Anyone who knew Sue was very lucky to have known such an amazing person. In addition to her loving parents , Sue leaves her sister Cindy Lawton and her husband Jim of Saugus, her brothers, Thomas Nocella and his wife Joyce of Peabody, and James Nocella and his wife Diane of Merrimack, NH. She also leaves her five beautiful nephews and nieces, Robert, Michael, Jamie, Matthew and Jessie Nocella, all whom she loved dearly. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn followed by a memorial funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, Lynn at 10:00 AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visiting hours on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM prior to her funeral. Donations may be made to the Abbott House Activity Committee, 28 Essex Street, Lynn, Massachusetts 01902
