Susan Elayne "Bean" O'Neill

Susan Elayne (Bean) O'Neill passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 64 years old.

Born on January 24, 1961, in Tucson, Arizona, to Robert and Joyce Bean, Susan was a proud Arizonan who brought her warmth, humor, and creativity wherever she went. In 1991, she and her family made Virginia their home, where she built a life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion to those she cherished most.

Susan was an avid horse enthusiast whose deep connection to animals and nature shone through every part of her life. She found her greatest peace in the barn and on the trails, where her love for horses reflected her patience, strength, and gentle spirit.

Creative and endlessly hands-on, Susan always had a project in motion - whether crafting, organizing, or finding new ways to make something beautiful. She had a heart as big as her imagination and a gift for making everyone around her feel cared for and loved.

Above all, Susan's greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and her dear mother, always showing her love through small acts of kindness and steadfast support.

Susan is survived by her husband, Sean O'Neill; her children, Kathleen O'Neill, Eilish Sumner (Kyle), and Jeffrey Buttery (Anne); and her beloved grandchildren, Arya, Maxwell, Lincoln, Harrison, and baby Liam, who is expected to arrive in March 2026. She is also survived by her sister, Kim Lipchak; her brother, Brock Bean; and her aunt, Bonnye McFarland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joyce Bean.

Susan will be remembered always for her radiant smile, her contagious laugh, and the light she brought into every room. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering love touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her spirit will continue to live on in the laughter, love, and memories she left behind. A service will be held at 12pm on Friday October 24th, 2025 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.
