Susan Oster Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Veilleux Redington Lawry Brothers Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2026.
WATERVILLE - Susan Mae (Levesque) Oster, age 80, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, in the comforts of her home. Born on December 20, 1945, and raised in Waterville, Maine, Susan was the youngest of three children born to Lurene A. (Cote) Levesque and Louis Able Levesque. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Richard "Ricky" Levesque of Lancaster, Ohio; her sister, Judy (Levesque) Smart of Lisbon, Maine; and her beloved eldest son, Jeffrey Leonard Denis, who passed in March of 1999.

Susan was a devoted and loving mother of 4 whose life centered around her family. She is survived by her children: Tamara Mae (Denis) Foster and her husband, Kirk, of Oakland, Maine; Holly Susan (Denis) Perry and her husband, Christopher, of Smithfield, Maine; and Todd Richard Denis and his wife, Laurie, of Winslow, Maine. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, with one more expected this summer, due in June-a joy she eagerly anticipated.

Family was Susan's greatest joy. She treasured spending quality time with her loved ones-whether camping, going to the beach, shopping, enjoying sleepovers, or simply being together making memories. Above all else, Susan was her family's most dedicated fan. She rarely missed a sporting event and could always be found by the loudest cheering-and the unmistakable sound of her infamous cow bell-as she enthusiastically supported her children and grandchildren for decades. Her love for cheering them on ran so deep that when her youngest daughter's family relocated to Indiana, Susan moved with them so she wouldn't miss the twins' high school hockey years. Being present for those moments meant everything to her.

Susan was raised Catholic, and her faith remained an important part of her life.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00am at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville, Maine, with a reception to follow at the church. Arrangements are by Veilleux-Redington-Lawry Brothers in Waterville. Susan will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering devotion to family, and the joy, pride, and energy she brought to every game, gathering, and life she touched.
