Susan Marie Pajkos-Grindle, known affectionately as Sue to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in LaGrange, Illinois, at the age of 67. Born on January 26, 1959, in
Chicago, Illinois, Sue's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and a nurturing spirit that touched everyone she knew.
Sue was a beacon of warmth in the lives of her beloved children, Jessica Grindle, engaged to Gregory Hughes, and William Henrick, married to Kim Reuter. Her role as a grandmother to Madison Hughes was one of Sue's greatest joys. She cherished every moment spent with Madison, often stepping in to care for her while Jessica worked, instilling values and sharing tender moments that will be treasured forever.
An avid reader, Sue found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love for literature was matched by her passion for sewing, a skill she wielded with grace to create beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Sue's hands were rarely still, for when they weren't holding a book or guiding a needle, they were eagerly reaching for the remote to tune in to her favorite soap operas. A daily ritual, she delighted in the drama of General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful. This love was a special bond she shared with her mother, reflecting their close-knit relationship that stood as a testament to the depth of her family ties.
Her dog, Sunshine, was a constant companion and indeed another baby to her. Sue's nurturing didn't end with her family; it extended to her four-legged friend, who was always by her side, sharing in the comfort and love that Sue provided so generously.
