Susan H. Perkins

Niantic – Susan H. Perkins, 72, longtime resident of Niantic, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, surrounded by her loving family. Susan was born on April 23, 1944, in New London, the daughter of the late Howard B. Cary and Olivia E. (Olsen) Cary of Niantic. Susan is survived by her husband Joseph T. Perkins, whom she married 52+ years ago, two sons, Todd J. Perkins, his wife Linda L. Perkins, and Gary H. Perkins all of Niantic, her two grandchildren, Lane O. Perkins and Quinn P. Perkins of Norwich, a brother Stephen R. Cary and his wife Gina Cary of Mystic, and her niece Ronda Cary-Wujtewicz, of Niantic. She was thoughtful and caring of all who came into her life, a kind, loving women who was loved by all who knew her. Upon graduation from New London High School, Susan worked in the office at Sheffield Tube Corporation in New London for several years. She went on to become an Office Assistant at the Old Lyme Country Club, retiring in 2000. Susan loved bowling and served as Secretary for The New Comers League of Groton, for 40 + years. She loved her Garden, feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. She especially loved visiting with her two grandchildren. Calling hours will be atthe Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, on Friday February 24, 2017, from 5 to 7 pm. A memorial service will follow at 7 pm. Interment will at the convenience of the family.
