Susan Piazza

Susan Piazza, 76, passed away on Thursday March 5, 2026, in UPMC Chautauqua.

Sue was born on April 2, 1949, a daughter of the late William Cardone and Bernice Wilson Cardone. She lived in the Lakewood and Jamestown area most of her life.

A 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School, she attended JCC Nursing Program in 1968.

She worked for WCA Hospital for about 20 years as a unit aide in ICU.

Her outgoing personality allowed her to connect with people due to her empathic nature and big heart. She enjoyed helping others and loved her family deeply. She enjoyed cooking for them and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church in earlier years. She served as a Eucharist Minister and served in Adoration at the church. She believed deeply in her faith.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Piazza of Lakewood, Samuel Piazza (Nicole) of Fredonia, and Joseph Piazza of Lakewood; grandchildren Amber(Dan) Hurlbut, Gavin Piazza, Cameron Piazza, Ethan Piazza, Landen Piazza, Annaleis Piazza and Angelina Piazza; great grandchildren Elonah Hurlbut, Bentley Hurlbut and Coraline Hurlbut; sisters Patricia Bly and twin sister Kathleen (Bruce) Sherman and several nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents William Cardone and Bernice Cardone, siblings Elizabeth Cardone, Antonia Cardone, and infant sister Christine Cardone and two infant brothers.

The funeral will be held at 5 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 3-5 pm prior to the service.

Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
