My eyes are swollen with tears as I write this. I just learned that my dear Susan has moved on to greener pastures.
Susan wasn´t my grandmother by blood, but she loved me more deeply than my own grandmother. I love her so much. I have a lifetime of memories of the sweetest, most amiable, and funniest person you could ever meet. To know Susan was to be loved she was incredibly affectionate, caring, polite, and knowledgeable. She will forever be embedded in my heart.
I miss her stories, her smile, and her laugh. These memories are forever ingrained in me. I didn´t know she had passed. I had a dream of her today and decided to look her up... oh, my Susie, I LOVE YOU FOREVER!!
Not a single day went by that I didn´t think of you. We watched films together. I used to read her my medical jargon and study outlines for school, and she never once failed to show interest. I would cook for her, and we´d eat together, watch shows... the whole nine. Every fiber of my being loved her; it was innate. Susan stood firm in what she believed in which I loved she wasn´t afraid to speak her mind Susan is unforgettable.
To be loved was to spend time with Susie.
I will forever be your silly, crazed girl from the golden steps who made you laugh. No one can ever compare to my beautiful Susan.

Sue and Jack were very close to my dad, David Smith, at Penn South. Jack served onbl the Penn South Board of Directors and Sue was the chair of the Coop Council at Penn South for many years. She and I batted heads many times. She was a fierce adversary. She was not afraid to stand up to anyone.

I did not know Susan and Jack personally, but I did know their children, as we grew up on this new housing development in South Jamaica, Queens, that was known as Rochdale Village. But I did know their kids, Joe and Debbie, and I send my sincerest condolences to them on their mom's passing.
Their parents were very politically active during Rochdale's early days, and while you didn't have to necessarily agree with them, they cared about their community with a positive fervor.
Again, this is a great loss to those who lived in Rochdale during its earliest days, and to the family, pleasecaccept these condolences from myself and the entire Lapka family.

I extend my warmest condolences to Joe and Deborah (along with their families) on the passing of their mother, Susan.
Mrs. Raskin was the sweetest, kindest, next door neighbor that any could ever have. As a little kid, she always had a kind, encouraging word and a warm, welcoming smile for me.
I had so much respect for Mrs. Raskin and the equally phenomenal Mr. Jack Raskin.
They were in perpetual service to our community, Rochdale, and they were always nice to this little kid. When I think of the concept of a good neighbor, Mr. and Mrs. Raskin are what I picture.
To the family, I wish peace, healing and eventually joy from wealth of memories you have.
Warmest greetings and condolences,
Chet Raymond
