Susan Anne (Winter) Ritter, 73, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born on June 18, 1950, to Elmer and Lucille (Bruggeman) Winter in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in Dilworth, MN, where she attended and graduated from Dilworth High School. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Dilworth. She was united in marriage to Ron Ritter on September 7, 1968. Susan and Ron moved to Moorhead, briefly lived in Dilworth, before moving to Moorhead again where they have lived ever since. Susan did custodial work for St. Ansgar’s Hospital for nearly 15 years and for Concordia for over 20 years before retiring at the age of 64.
Susan enjoyed sewing, gardening, and attending her water aerobics classes at the YMCA. She was very active in her Cursillo grouping and an active member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Above all, she loved spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Ron; children, Bill (Cheryl) Ritter and Jennifer (Jody) Dahl; grandchildren, Austin (Morgan Frey) Ritter, Annika Dahl, Kylie Ritter, and Michael Dahl; siblings, Karen (Trinidad) Suniga, Doug (Eloyes) Winter, Curt (Andrea) Winter, Tom (Claudia) Winter, Barbara Winter, and Kimberly (Rick) Young; sister-in-law, Karen Winter; beloved pet, Mary; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lucille, and brother, Ronald.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., followed by the wake service at 7:00 P.M. with a rosary to follow the wake service, Friday, November 3, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the church. A livestream of the service will be available on her webpage at www.wrightfuneral.com where a guestbook and video tribute may also be found. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or a designation of your choosing.
