Susan Gail Schmidt

Susan Gail Schmidt, 76, of Seguin, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026.

Born on December 8, 1949, Susan lived a life overflowing with love, particularly for her family. She found great joy in gardening, tending to beautiful flowers and plants that brightened her world. She also had a deep passion for antiques, surrounding herself with timeless pieces that told stories of the past.

But above all else, Susan's greatest love was for her grandkids. She delighted in every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with laughter, hugs, and pure joy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Anderson "Andy" Schmidt; her mother, Adelaide Phillips; her father, Marvin Ranft; her brother, Scott Ranft; and her sister, Karen Ranft.

Susan is survived by her loving son, Herman Anthony "Tony" Schmidt, and his wife, Tasha Schmidt; her cherished grandsons, Jackson Schmidt and Anderson Schmidt; and her brothers, Darryl Ranft and John Ranft. She will also be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Kingsbury Cemetery with the Reverend Jeremy Roy officiating.
