Susan Lynn (Usher)

Susan Lynn (Usher) LeVander, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 11, 2025. She was the wife of Steven LeVander. Susie was born on March 9, 1962, in Torrington, Connecticut, to the late Robert J. Usher Sr. and Beverly (Evangelisti) Usher.

Susie dedicated more than three decades of her life to her work as an administrative assistant, spending 16 years with National Healthcare Associates and 20 years with A. E. Oberhaus.

She was happiest with the sun on her face, enjoying time by the pool and many family vacations in Cape Cod, Hawaii, and Cancun. She loved the thrill of a rollercoaster, traveling to new places, and hiking. A true foodie, she loved trying new restaurants, cooking a delicious meal, and enjoying a good cocktail. She loved music and could recall the lyrics to nearly any song and loved singing along to her favorites. She had a great love for dogs, taking any opportunity to pet one, and holding a special place in her heart for Tiger, Sophie, Ivy, and Louie.

Above all, time with friends and family was what she treasured most. She spent 38 wonderful years married to her best friend, and her greatest joy came from being with her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and holidays and her presence made every gathering brighter. Her love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

In addition to her husband, Steven, and mother, Beverly, she is survived by two daughters, Meagan Carlson and her husband, Steven, and Kathleen LeVander; two grandchildren, Emmy and Nate Carlson; a sister, Kathleen Usher and her wife, Jeanne Galloway; a brother, David Usher; a brother-in-law, Mark LeVander and his wife, Diana; a sister-in-law, Carleen LeVander and her husband, Bill Pratt; a sister-in-law, Cyndy LeVander; three nephews, Tyler LeVander, Carson Pratt and his wife, Kristin, and Julian Pratt; one niece, Chelsea Biondic, her husband, Kevin, and their son, Luca; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Susie was predeceased by her father, Robert Usher, a brother, Bobby Usher, her father-in-law, Carl LeVander, and a brother-in-law, Jim LeVander.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, December 19, 2025. at 11 a.m. at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Ashes will be placed during a celebration of life ceremony in the spring.
