Susan Vander Martin Obituary
She married Lenard Cooper on August 3, 1964, and two children were born to that union. He was killed in action while serving in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam on October 18, 1969. She married Jim Vander Martin on January 10, 1970; a son, George, was born to that union. Susan enjoyed her life as a mother and homemaker.
Her family includes her children: Mary (Mark Hilligas) Stein, Michelle Cooper, and George Vander Martin, all of Oskaloosa; she was blessed with four grandchildren: Heidi (Norm) Hanzelka, Austin Stein, Rachel McKee and Justin Vander Martin; she was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by three siblings: Mary Jane Davis of Oskaloosa, Sandy Griffin (Bruce) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Virgil (Sue) Mitrisin of Cave Creek, AZ.

She is survived by three siblings: Mary Jane Davis of Oskaloosa, Sandy Griffin (Bruce) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Virgil (Sue) Mitrisin of Cave Creek, AZ.
In addition to her parents and both her husbands, Susan was preceded in death by her brothers: William, John, George, Danny, Jim, and Steve Mitrisin, and her sisters: Marguerite "Maggie" Mitrisin, Joyce Putnam, and Kate Hudson.
Susan's body has been cremated, and a celebration of life will be held later. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory is handling her final arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to her family.
